ICMIF Board Dinner

FMG would like to invite all ICMIF Board and Committee members and their accompanying persons to a dinner surrounded by some of New Zealand’s finest works of art in the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, in downtown Auckland. The gallery houses an extensive collection of national and international art and the evening will include a guided tour of some of the exhibits.

Attendees of the Young Leaders Programme will have the opportunity to meet and network with each other and ICMIF staff before attending the Conference Welcome Reception.

The ICMIF Welcome Reception will be held in the conference hotel to allow delegates to meet with each other and their accompanying persons and relax together upon arrival in Auckland. The evening will include a flavour of the local culture featuring a Māori “pōwhiri” welcoming ceremony and, of course, the traditional “hongi” greeting (ceremonial touching of noses). The menu will include fresh, exciting and seasonal food and wine from the local area.

Perched on the third level overlooking Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour this rooftop bar provides an informal opportunity for attendees of the Young Leaders Programme to reflect on the key learnings from the day and continue to network and socialise with their peers.

Gala Dinner “Sailing Away”

Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron yacht club

FMG would like to offer to all delegates and their accompanying persons a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sail in Auckland’s harbour. Catering for all ages, levels of fitness and ability, a selection of yachts including former America’s Cup yachts, Maxi Yachts and Harbour Cruising yachts will be available. Attendees may choose in advance which level of participation they are most comfortable with. This can be as sailing crew or simply sitting back and taking in the view on a spectator boat.  No experience is required and expert guidance and all safety equipment is provided. For attendees who prefer not to sail, FMG have reserved a viewing spot at the yacht club which overlooks the harbour and the Westhaven Marina where attendees can relax with a drink and watch the sailing activities.

At the end of the “regatta”, the event will continue with a relaxed evening including dinner at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron yacht club. The dinner will include a traditional Kiwi BBQ experience including local delicacies; exciting entertainment; and access to the America’s Cup to have photos taken next to the trophy.

We are pleased to announce that we now have available the options for the Gala Dinner “Sailing Away” Regatta, kindly hosted by FMG, on Friday 15th November at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

You can now choose from five different options for the afternoon to match everyone’s expectations, age and level of fitness. No experience is required and expert guidance plus all safety and wet weather equipment is provided.

Please note that space on some of the vessels is limited and will be allocated on a “first come first served” basis. Please send your response to us as soon as possible before the deadline of Wednesday 30th October 2019.

At the end of the “Regatta”, the event will continue with a relaxed evening including dinner and local entertainment at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

Coaches will depart from the City Road Entrance of the Cordis Hotel which located is on the ground floor of the hotel at 16.00 for those taking part in sailing, and at 17.00 for those who will not be sailing but will go directly to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

Please dress casually (jeans/shorts are acceptable) if taking part in the “Regatta”. Additional waterproof clothing will be provided at the venue but please wear trainers/deck shoes/closed toe footwear (no heels). If you would like to bring a change of clothing for the evening dinner, FMG will provide a cloakroom service.

For those not sailing, casual attire is the dress code for the evening.
